Why so many gays and lesbians?

Hi everyone,

In am currently single and, in my quest to find a good match, I realized that many people are turning gay or lesbian and this got me wondering:

1. Has it always been this way and only now with social media this is becoming more obvious?

2. Is this something new, why? Are men not<b> meeting women </font></b>standards, and vice-et-versa?

3. Is it the need for trying new things in life?

Please help me out.
