Just an observation or two from the other side (of the gender wall AND the pond.) While it always plays out happily in stories or in films, the odds of a woman meeting a strange man in a bar and continuing on to have sex right away and it ending well are very slim. In fiction, there are no psycopaths, there are no selfish lovers, there are no future-stalkers. In reality for women, there's so many poor endings to be considered... from a lackluster encounter to being pursued publicly to ending up dead. Reassurance that you're not one of those types of men usually only comes with a bit of familiarity. If a man continues to steer the conversation towards whatever sexual scenario he's interested in, or can only converse about sexual topics, it's a red flag. Secondly. This: "Perhaps I've scared some women away with the suggestion that I'm attracted to wit and intelligence." That's called negging and it only makes women think you're a whiny bitch. Lastly the "my wife can't have sex" line is... overused. It doesn't matter to most women WHY a man is cheating. The women who won't entertain a married man won't entertain him no matter what the reason is behind his stepping out. The women who will entertain a married man really don't care to hear the sob story about why. Oh... and welcome to the blogs!

Interesting and informative comments. I'm not used to being on dating sites so have arrived with a lot of naivety abut how to approach it . I'm not looking for a relationship with anyone so didn't want to portray that impression. I literally want a sexual encounter that is erotic and illicit. My comments about wit and intelligence were based on my experience so far. I've had responses but they've come from women who would make good candidates for the Jeremy Kyle show. Perhaps I'm a sexual snob? I don't know. I was used to high standards with the aforementioned wife. comments on her health {MND} being taken with a large pinch of salt are understandable and I suspect the more I protest them to be true in my case the more it would just come across as "yeah right. whatever." I'm suspecting I might be better suited to source professional services
