The Simple Truth It is not sexy For it is something more. Each one unique But in the simple truth Each one is the same. Each embrace Is simply a chapter In the story of us. Here is the welcome that allows me to speak volumes of how I have missed you yet I don’t have to say a word. The smile when I see you Is how I reach out to you Before I am close enough To hold you. When we ar finally near I get the rush Of happiness and purpose. Feel my arms wrap around you. My arms gently constrict And pull you in closer. Your can feel the strength of my emotion And the tender care Of my adoration. I pull you close Till our bodies Compress and mold together. Your breasts flattening Against my frame. That intimate touch Is an erotic charge But not one We ever have to Act upon. We only act upon it When the moment calls. The embrace is the solitary goal. Your body against mine Letting our souls to speak in the silence that surrounds us. You turn your head To rest it against me. My arms Cocoon you Into me. The wall, the shield, form the fortress around you. Letting the world Crash against me So all you feel Is the safety Of my feelings for you. Let the warmth of our embrace Radiate And warm you With a sense of belonging. Let yourself feel How much I missed you And how good You make me feel When I have you close. Lay your head against my chest As the darkened living room Is illuminated By the movie we are watching. Feel me adjust the blanket And tuck it behind you To ensure Your are completely covered. Get lost In what’s happening Upon the screen And let me be The only<b> tether </font></b>To reality. My hand subconsciously moves And caresses your back Every now and again. Just to reassure us That we are both here. I may chuckle When you squeeze my arm, clutch my shirt, or even jump At the images of fiction That flash across the room. But there is no better way To spend a lazy rainy day Or quiet night Than have you Curled up next to me. It makes me Want to be, The place where you belong. Lay your head Upon my lap Or curl up into my arms As i sit in my chair. Whatever it is That vexs you Or has pained you It is ok. I am here. Let me be your sanctuary. My arms wrap around you So you can close yourself off to the world And open yourself up to me. No words need to be spoken Unless you need them heard. I will take no action Save hold you And never let go. Close your eyes. Breathe. Lose the negative inflence. Feel me. Listen to my heartbeat. Can you hear it yet. I tighten my grip around you Ever so slightly. Here you are safe. Here there are never any judgements. Here you Can always be you. Here you are appreciated For being you. Just breathe, Let the tears flow i you need. Let yourself heal From whatever wounds You may have endured today. I am here. Just breath. Let it all out. Let it all go away. Do your hear it now Thump-thump thump-tump That is me That is the call Of your safety. I am the barrier To the world. They can crash upon me like waves But i will never yeild While you are here. Just breathe. I am here. Hold me As our bodies recover. Let me be part of you Even if i am no longer Inside you. Lay beside me or lay on top of me and rest your chin on my breastbone If you need. Just don’t leave. Let me run my fingers Run through your hair. Allow me the privilege To brush a few rogue strands Away from your face So i may look into your eyes And hold your gaze. Just want to feel your soft skin Next to mine. Want to hold you close to me To make these fleeting moments last A few breathes more I want to hold your attention As well as you. The sex May be out of this world But these moments afterwards Is what makes it memorable. Let the primal hedonistic lust Be tempered by the victorian illusion Of what romance should only be. That is where the true connection Is held. Hold that connection As I hold you here. This is how You can fall asleep. Lay your head Upon my chest Drape your leg over mine As my arm wraps around you. One arm along your back The other crosses over me So my hand may run Up and down your arm and shoulder. Close your eyes. Relax. Feel the thump Of my heartbeat As my chest Gently rises And falls. Let me be the cadence Of your serenity. Don’t let your mind fight What your body is asking for. Give into the fact There is nothing that needs to be done. Just be. Just be. I will still be here in the morning. I will be that rock and support. Let my masculine grace Be what makes you feel whole. I will always be here Whenever you want Or need me. This is the simple truth Of each and every embrace That we share. Authors note- so in between actively writing two stories (and a third mucking about my empty head) my mind forced this lil number out into the world. Was kind of an exercise in the variation of an embrace and how different they all are but in the context of a relationship can all ultimately be the same thing. (Kind of like how an emotion call be conveyed differently in song, art, poetry, story telling and reenactment ) Hopefully I can finish one of the other ones so I can work on the one I want to submit for the publishing call for submission |
