BUT part of the reason would be because you'd go to the movie when you were told to go , and you'd take the route you were told to take , and instead of the Mask of Zorro you'd see whatever movie was playing when they told you to go . The Joker on the other hand - what is he ? A nihilist ? An anarchist ? He's the logical response to Batman . In a Bat-world where violence is the tool of order , what choice is left but anarchy ? The presence of injustice means that there is no justice . If innocence can be destroyed there is no innocence . So your life , all life , is a joke . The Joker is not a physical challenge , he's a philosophical challenge . If Batman needs to exist what's the point of it all ? What do our social norms mean ? The Batman can never defeat the Joker because the conflict between the need for security and the desire for freedom isn't one that can be resolved - its a balancing act . How much order can we stand ? And how much risk are we willing to take ? Each of us has to decide . If I've learned one thing its that if you spend enough time with a lady eventually you'll hear about the time or times she was attacked by a dude . Its one of those things you try not to think about , buts its there . Most of them fought off the attack (or claim they did) but also most of them didn't report anything . It makes me wonder , do most women get attacked at some time or another ? Sure seems like it . Makes you wonder what kind of world we live in . And if all these women are being attacked who's doing the attacking ? Are some bad seeds attacking a whole bunch of women ? Seems doubtful , even if ever violent criminal was attacking 100 women that still means there's millions of them out there . Seems far more likely that a significant minority of dudes at some point just give attacking a lady a spin - kick the old tires and see how they like it - which is fucking terrifying . How many dudes do I know who've attacked a woman ? They , you know "they" have been lying to you , man. There ain't no such thing as a hero . Not anymore . But you , you , and you , and you , you have become addicted to the illusion of what a hero is . You have become addicted to the illusion of what a hero does for you . You think you need someone to pat you on the back . You think you need someone to tuck you in bed at night , kiss you on the cheek and tell you that everything is all right . But everything , everything , everything , EVERYTHING IS NOT ALL RIGHT ! What if I was to tell you that the man who made you is a liar ? What if I was to tell you that your own flesh and blood turned his back on you ? I would never turn my back on you . There are several different types of men in this world . There are men who dream and never make it off their couch . There are men who dream and fail . And then there are men who dream and change the landscape of this world . What about you , man ? That's what I want to know . Aren't you tired of feeling unwanted ? Aren't you tired of feeling like an outcast and being stepped upon ? Well then today is your day . Today is the day that hell froze. Today is the day that pigs fly . Today , you look at fear right in the eye and say'Mr. Fear , you sir , you are a liar '. They say that patience is a virtue . But in my estimation , it's a lost art . People want everything now , now , now and they want more , and more , and more of it . They don't realize that beyond their precious city walls there is another world and it's full of animals just like yours : and in that world , when one of my animals is sick or hurt we don't let them fumble around in agony . We put 'em down . Everything you think you know about your own lives , is all based upon lies . Men , you wake up every morning , you go to work , you break your backs just trying to earn a little bit of cash so that you can buy yourself those fancy suits , so that you can buy yourself those sports car and impress the women . And now women , you wake up every morning, you look at yourself in the mirror , and you coat make up all over your beautiful faces because you didn't even realize that you are just wearing the mask that society demands you to wear . It's a bottomless pit of lies . They plaster your hopes and dreams up on a billboard . And who is the man that is on that billboard ? Well he's the man that hides behind the plastic smile . He's the man that plays the role of hero better than anyone else . He's the man that tells you everything you think you need to hear and I think to myself , oh , what a wonderful world . The world is bleeding from the inside out . It lives and breathes , and just like everything else it craves change . The problem is it becomes far too easy to be enamored with the gardens and to turn a blind eye to the landfills . You can't just whisper in peoples ears anymore and to expect them to understand you , to believe in you . You have to pry their eyes open and force them to watch . Society as a whole has become this vile and putrid thing . You do as your told , so says the man . You see what they want you to see and you feel whatever it is they want you to feel but I am different . Where you see a blank canvas , I see a beautiful painting . And where you hear silence , I hear symphony . On the other side though I saw a pretty great concert this weekend . So its probably all okay . Putting first by putting employees first, immediately after prioritizing fiscal responsibilities and leveraging profitability towards exceeding by empowering our employees to put (and themselves) first, in a diverse and respectful environment of only those that come first, first. |

Yeah, I would say the guy who attacked me was in the "maybe I'll give it a spin" category. Who knows, maybe he even got the idea because I treated him like he was behaving suspiciously. And yeah, I was a dumbass and didn't call to report it until the following morning. I think it's something about when you're all freaked out you can't quite deal with the thought of dealing with someone ELSE in your space, even a cop.
